Sharpton has made a career built on saying outrageous and sometime hateful things, but on this point he is a voice of reason. See this post<\/a>, where I noted polling data supporting this view.<\/p>\n

In contrast, there is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who leaves no doubt that “defunding the police means defunding the police<\/a>,” i.e. zeroing out the police budget and abolishing the police department.<\/p>\n
