Joe Marino and Dean Balsamini of the New York Post, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/10\/cop-assaulting-nyc-teen-back-on-streets-after-latest-arrest\/?utm_campaign=iphone_nyp&amp;utm_source=pasteboard_app\">report<\/a> that in early June, Rivera was released after being charged with using a stolen credit card and threatening to shoot a man during an altercation. In July Rivera was arrested and released for assault after attacking police who were attempting to clear protesters at a major\u00a0 intersection near Columbus Park. In September he was arrested again and released for headbutting an officer during another protest.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Last Wednesday, Rivera was arrested again for attacking two officers during a late night riot outside the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn. One of the officers was hospitalized. Rivera was released on bail Saturday. While the Post story calls Rivera a poster child, an 18-year-old is not a child. Clearly this criminal is dangerous and should be taken off the streets. When will Mayor De Blasio allow this to happen, after he kills someone?\u00a0\u00a0 Murders in the Big Apple increased by 76% last month, with shootings up a whopping 127%. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/09\/10\/manhattan-rental-market-plunges-leaving-15000-empty-apartments.html\">According<\/a> to CNBC, there are currently 15,000 vacant apartments in New York City, the highest vacancy rate in 14 years.
