Instead of announcing his plans to deal with a New York City crime spike in virtually every major crime category, newly sworn in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has handed down a list of crimes that he won’t prosecute.\u00a0 Andrew Mark Miller of Fox News reports<\/a> that Bragg’s plan for “decriminalization \/ non-prosecution” forbids holding offenders for drug possession, subway turnstile jumping, fighting with cops (resisting arrest), trespassing and prostitution accountable.\u00a0 He also will not seek prison or jail sentences for any crime other than homicide or violent felonies stating that “reserving incarceration for matters involving significant harm will make us safer.”\u00a0 Departing slightly from his wokemate, LA District Attorney George Gascon, Bragg vows to never seek a maximum prison sentence, even for multiple murderers, of longer than 20 years and will never seek a sentence of life without parole.\u00a0 The more sympathetic Gascon will not seek a maximum sentence for any criminal of more than 15 years.<\/p>\n

Bragg, like\u00a0 Gascon was elected with significant financial support from progressive billionaire George Soros, who has spent most of the last 20 years bankrolling soft-on-crime prosecutors and ballot measures.\u00a0 Bragg also shares his no-bail\/low bail position on arrestees with Soros sponsored Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner, San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin and Gascon.\u00a0 It should be noted that Philly, San Francisco and LA are awash with crime and violence.\u00a0 The nearly 100,000 offenders released on New York streets with zero bail since 2019 have helped generate 100,000 murders, robberies, violent assaults, burglaries, grand larcenies and auto thefts in the Big Apple last year.\u00a0 Some 3,400 of those released offenders have been rearrested for violent felonies.\u00a0 The New York Police Benevolent Association told reporters “We continue to have serious concerns about the message these types of policies send to both police officers and criminals on the street.\u00a0 Police officers don’t want to be sent out to enforce laws that the district attorney won’t prosecute.”<\/p>\n

History unequivocally demonstrates that when consequences for criminal behavior are eliminated or reduced, you get more criminal behavior.\u00a0\u00a0 The public is beginning to figure this out, and the woke District Attorneys in San Francisco and Los Angeles are facing recalls.\u00a0 It will be interesting to see how much crime and violence folks in Manhattan will tolerate before turning on Mr. Bragg.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
