A poll<\/a> conducted by the Harvard University Center for American and Political Studies and the Harris Poll yielded the result in the caption (more precisely 64-36) along with several other interesting results. This is one more encouraging sign that the people are returning to common sense on crime. It can’t come a moment too soon.<\/p>\n

After years of being pilloried by the media and leftist politicians, police had the third highest net favorability rating of the institutions in the survey, with a net of +45% (68-23). Congress, in contrast, comes in at -33%. Hopefully, more than a few of the law-enforcement-bashing Members of Congress will be former Members come January.<\/p>\n

Crime came in fourth on the list of top issues, after inflation, jobs\/economy, and immigration.<\/p>\n

Politically, the poll is good news for the Republican party heading into the midterms. It shows that voters favor that party’s positions on the areas of greatest concern.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
