The prize in literature went to Eric Mart\u00ednez, Francis Mollica, and Edward Gibson for their research on why legal documents are hard to understand: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0010027722000580?via%3Dihub\">Poor Writing, Not Specialized Concepts, Drives Processing Difficulty in Legal Language<\/a>.&#8221; I pretty much knew that, but it&#8217;s nice to see it confirmed in published research.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Also noteworthy is the prize for art history: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/0378874186900917?via%3Dihub\">A Multidisciplinary Approach to Ritual Enema Scenes on Ancient Maya Pottery<\/a>.&#8221; I didn&#8217;t actually need to know that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bit late on this report.
