The March 27 killings at the Christian Covenant School in Nashville were not a random event.\u00a0 Enough evidence has become available to conclude that the attack that killed three children and three school employees was carefully planned by the 28-year-old woman who identified as a man.\u00a0 The shooter, Audrey Hale, was being treated by a doctor for an emotional disorder, and her parents did not know she possessed several guns.\u00a0 The state of Tennessee had recently passed laws to ban drag shows for children, the sexual mutilation of children (called gender transition surgery) and biological males from competing in women’s sports.\u00a0 This was probably enough to trigger Hale, who left a manifesto which has yet to be shared with the public.\u00a0 It seems fairly clear that the attack was in retaliation for injustices she believed she, and others like her, suffered.\u00a0 The Christian school was likely targeted because it teaches children that there are two genders, as do biologists.\u00a0 The attack came one week before an April 1 rally called the “Trans Day of Vengeance” is scheduled to be held on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court according<\/a> to the Daily Mail.\u00a0 The violent anarchist group Antifa and the Trans Radical Activist Network have organized the rally “stop trans genocide.”<\/p>\n

What trans genocide?\u00a0 I am not aware of any organized violence against transgenders.\u00a0 States are passing laws to protect school children from being groomed for gender transition.\u00a0 Perhaps that constitutes genocide to paranoids.<\/p>\n

While the shooting has all the elements of a hate crime, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland seems reluctant to open an hate crime investigation.\u00a0 My sense is that had a member of the Proud Boys shot up an LGBTQ+ nightclub, a federal hate crime investigation would have been announced the next day.\u00a0\u00a0 AG Garland is once again demonstrating that his commitment to justice is subject to political calculation.<\/p>\n

Not surprisingly The Trans Resistance Network, a radical pro-trans advocacy group, characterized Hale as a victim, releasing a statement saying that she “had no other effective way to be seen.”<\/p>\n

If and when the manifesto is released, existing evidence suggests that it will confirm my view that this very troubled young woman decided to go out in a blaze of glory while striking out at her imagined oppressors.\u00a0 She undoubtedly received support and encouragement via social media.<\/p>\n
