There are no summary decisions or dissents from denial of certiorari.<\/p>\n<p>We are still waiting on two decisions from the present term: <em>Jones v. Hendrix<\/em>, No. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/search.aspx?filename=\/docket\/docketfiles\/html\/public\/21-857.html\">21-857<\/a>, on successive collateral attacks by federal prisoners and <em>Counterman v. Colorado<\/em>, No. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/search.aspx?filename=\/docket\/docketfiles\/html\/public\/22-138.html\">22-138<\/a>, on stalking laws and &#8220;true threats.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Decisions are expected on Thursday and Friday this week.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For next term (beginning in October), there are only two criminal cases on the docket so far. <em>Pulsifer v. United States<\/em> , No. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/search.aspx?filename=\/docket\/docketfiles\/html\/public\/22-340.html\">22-340<\/a>, involves the interpretation of a poorly worded statute on mandatory minimum sentences. The consolidated cases of <em>Brown v. United States<\/em>, No. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/search.aspx?filename=\/docket\/docketfiles\/html\/public\/22-6389.html\">22-6389<\/a> and <em>Jackson v. United States<\/em>, No. 22-6640, involve the continuing problem of the Armed Career Criminal Act and varying definitions of crimes in different jurisdictions. The law-enforcement-related civil case of <em>Culley v. Atty. Gen. Alabama<\/em>, No. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/search.aspx?filename=\/docket\/docketfiles\/html\/public\/22-585.html\">22-585<\/a>, involves due process in forfeiture cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s an uneventful Monday at the U.S. Supreme Court.
