These migrants are getting arrested quite often here, and we really don\u2019t know who they are. They really don\u2019t have ID. They\u2019re not being vetted properly, but some of them are committing some of the most violent crimes here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The day after Martinez arrived he was arrested for shoplifting at a Brooklyn Costco.\u00a0 He was charged with petty larceny and released.\u00a0 The following week he hit pharmacy in Manhattan, stealing a tool kit.\u00a0 A day later he was caught stealing in another pharmacy and pulled a knife on a security guard.\u00a0 He was charged with menacing and released without bail.\u00a0 Three days later Martinez used a bicycle tire for an unprovoked attack on a reporter walking in Times Square.\u00a0 He was later arrested\u00a0 and released.\u00a0 On August 21, Martinez grabbed a woman by the hair in Midtown and dragged her across a room then kicked her and smashed her phone.\u00a0 He was charged with menacing, assault, criminal mischief and weapons possession and released.\u00a0 Three days later he was arrested for threatening a man with a chain and released without bail.\u00a0 The following week Martinez was caught breaking bicycle locks with a metal pipe in Times Square.\u00a0 This time he said that he needed medical attention and was taken to a Hospital, where he proceeded to attack a police officer.<\/p>\n<p>Under New York law assault on a police officer requires bail.\u00a0 In light of his multiple arrests, the deputy DA asked for $10,000 bail and the judge reduced this to $5,000.\u00a0 Fortunately Martinez was unable to post bail so he is currently at Rikers Island awaiting trial.<\/p>\n<p>If he had not attacked the cop, Martinez would be back on the street looking for his next victim.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The impact of New York City&#8217;s Sanctuary City and soft-on-crime policies have created an environment where citizens are being repeatedly victimized by the same criminals who should not even be in the country.\u00a0 29-year-old Daniel Hernandez Martinez, an illegal who arrived in the Big Apple from Venezuela two months ago is a case in point.\u00a0 Tina Moore of the New York Post reports that Martinez has been arrested five times for thefts and assaults with an additional arrest for theft in Brooklyn.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cHe\u2019s been wreaking havoc,\u201d a cop with more than 20 years on the job said. \u201cThis is not an isolated incident.
