One obvious reason is that criminal justice has, in fact, gotten considerably less tough in many states in recent years. Another reason is the increases in crime in some areas and some types of crime, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimeandconsequences.blog\/?p=9128\">homicides<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimeandconsequences.blog\/?p=9739\">carjacking<\/a>, and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimeandconsequences.blog\/?p=9694\"> retail theft<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimeandconsequences.blog\/?p=9427\">decline in public order<\/a>.
