Judge Who Helped Illegal Alien Escape From ICE Convicted
A Milwaukee Judge has been convicted of felony obstruction for letting an illegal alien out the back door of her courtroom to prevent federal immigration agents from arresting him. Harold Hutchison of Liberty Unyielding reports that a jury returned the guilty verdict Thursday against Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan after a four day trial. ICE agents sought to apprehend the illegal immigrant, Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, after a hearing on a battery charge in front of Judge Dugan last April, the Associated Press reported. Flores-Ruiz was captured by the ICE agents following a foot chase.
“Former Wisconsin state judge Hannah Dugan betrayed her oath and the people she served when she obstructed federal law enforcement during an immigration enforcement operation,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche posted on X. “Today, a federal jury of her peers found her guilty and sent a clear message: the American people respect law and order.”
“Nobody is above the law,” Blanche continued. “This Department will not tolerate obstruction, will enforce federal immigration law, and will hold criminals to account – even those who wear robes.”
Judge Dugan was celebrated by Democrats for resisting President Trump’s promise to remove illegal alien criminals from the United States. Activist judges across the country have been abusing their authority to issue rulings blocking the President’s policies on a number of issues since his election last year.
It’s about time that one of them was held accountable. Dugan’s conviction could result in a five year prison sentence.
