U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, twice reversed for halting federal executions, has halted them yet again. Her 18 page opinion finds a probability of success on one claim, based on the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and she concludes without analysis of any depth that the public interest in having this claim litigated outweighs the interest of justice in carrying out very long overdue sentences for heinous crimes.

Dr. Drew Pinsky is calling on lawmakers to modify Prop 47, which he says is enabling individuals with mental health issues to deny treatment.

Theodore Dalrymple has an article in the City Journal titled Effectively Legalizing Murder.
The recent decision of a French court would, if taken as precedent, in effect legalize murder—provided that the act was committed in a state of temporary madness caused by intoxication with cannabis.
