Open Season on the Most Vulnerable in NYC
As reported in earlier posts, the no bail law in New York City, the widespread attacks on police officers and the mayor’s soft approach to rioters during the first two weeks of June has resulted in a spike in shootings, murders, burglaries and assaults. Last week a habitual criminal with over 100 arrests for prior crimes was caught on video punching a 93-year-old woman, who hit her head on a fire hydrant as she fell. The attack was unprovoked.
Gino Spocchia of the Independent reports that In another unprovoked attack last Wednesday, a 23-year-old homeless man named Ahmed Kromah sucker-punched a 73-year-old woman waiting for her train at a subway station in the Bronx. Kromah was caught hitting the woman on a security camera. She was hospitalized while he has been charged with assault. No word on whether assault is a no-bail offense. Former New York police officer John Cardillo characterized the crime situation in the city as “pre-Rudy Giuliani” and “open season on the most vulnerable.” “It is going to get worse.”
